 **A challenging Kayaking adventure from Methoni to the natural monument island of Sapientza.**

Methoni was the "eye" of Venice in the Mediterranean and an important trade and marine center for the Venetians during medieval years. The castle of Methoni is the most impressive fortress in the Peloponnese built in a rock that enters the sea and is separated from the mainland by an artificial moat. Across Methoni, the lush island of Sapienza, integrated into the Natura 2000 network, home to rare species of flora and fauna. Near its coasts several shipwrecks are lying still visible with goggles and snorkels.

Our trip starts at the beach right in front of Methoni, next to which looms the impressive fortress. Your guide will brief you on paddling techniques, safety measures, and equipment before hopping onto our kayaks for a rather demanding paddling adventure. We glide our kayaks near the imposing walls of the castle which are adorned with impressive arcs and bastions. We travel back in time with pictures taken from the medieval past of the region. Soon we will be crossing the channel between Methoni and Sapienza where many ancient shipwrecks are scattered around. We shall take a chance here to snorkel near the island's rough coast in search of a few visible remains of shipwrecks. Heading south we shall reach the tranquility of the beautiful beach of the island. Here, we rest, swim and sunbath and taste our delicious homemade picnic of local delicacies. The island is a monument of nature covered by a dense, ancient arbutus forest, home of muffle (wild sheep), wild goats (kri-kri), partridges, pheasants, and many other species of which we may be lucky enough to meet them. Once our break is over, we head east paddle exploring the north coast of the island before returning back to the starting point to end a paddling adventure in Methoni and the island of Sapienza.

The theoretical training takes place at the dive centre and the dive at St. Paul’s Bay in Lindos. The maximum depth we reach in DSD is about 6 meters and the duration of the dive approximately 30 minutes (including underwater skills according to PADI’s safety standards).

The DSD program is available for ages of 10 years old or older.

### What will you learn?

Learning to freedive with SSI is easier than you think. In this program, online materials and in-person academic sessions, pool/confined water sessions and open water training dives are combined to help you become a confident and safe freediver in no time. 

Through the 4 day program you will learn about human physiology and what happens to our bodies and minds underwater, as well as all the proper skills and knowledge in order to freedive safely and in the most relaxed way to a maximum depth of 20 meters. You will prepare for in-water sessions through some special stretching and relaxation techniques which will offer you better respiration ability and muscle flexibility. This will be combined with techniques of breathing before and after a dive, and familiarizing yourself with diaphragmatic breathing which will eventually allow you to take your deepest breath ever! 

The in-water sessions will include both static and dynamic breath hold exercises and will build up to learning a variety of proper techniques for descending and ascending

### What gear will you use?

While not as much as scuba diving, freediving still involves the use of some gear. You will use and be provided with a freediving mask, snorkel and fins, as well as a weather appropriate freediving wetsuit. You will also use and learn about a freediving safety buoy and lines. 

If you are wanting to invest in personal gear, our instructors would be delighted to advise you on the gear most fit for your goals, and our in-house shop also has a selection of freediving gear available for purchase. 

### What learning materials will you need?

When you sign up to the course you gain access to SSI Freediver online learning materials which are best completed before starting your in-person lessons.The materials can be accessed through SSI Website/App and be downloaded for offline use. **A half day Sea Kayaking trip along the coast east of Kalamata.**

Kalamata not only is blessed with some of the most gorgeous Mediterranean landscape but also offers some of the most beautiful beaches and coasts. The city has been built harmoniously between the Messinian Gulf and among the slopes of Taygetos. A mountain that literally touches the sea. The bay of Kalamata and the surrounding coast is an area of outstanding natural beauty where you can experience it with the unique way from the seat of a Sea Kayak.

This trip is suitable for everybody but ideal for families and kids. We keep the pace relaxed, take a few breaks ensuring everybody is having a great time at the sea. Before departure your guide will introduce you to the kayaks and equipment. You will learn an easy paddling technique that will help you enjoy the experience. During the trip this relaxing journey along the coastline east of Kalamata we’ll get a chance to see the city from a distance. We will enjoy the friendly Messinian gulf paddling next to scenic harbors, spectacular cliffs and secret coves with sandy beaches. We may be lucky enough to witness wildlife such as the famous Caretta Caretta sea turtle. As you glide through the water you will soon realize how easy and effortless kayaking is. In spots with the most beautiful water we shall take not miss the chance for swimming, snorkeling and hunt for shells. Sea Kayak in Kalamata

**A half day Rafting trip in the river of Zeus**

Lousios is the river where Zeus took his first bath after his birth. Alfios is the longest river of the Peloponnese and a god himself according to mythology. Both rivers flow through an impressive gorge, with white limestone cliffs rising above surrounded by prolific plant life even in the summer. Until the 20th century the river’s power was harnessed by numerous watermills, whilst the cliffs above provided refuge to hermits and monks in caves and cliff-hugging monasteries, the latter of which is still inhabited. Here, a unique rafting experience into two of the most beautiful rivers of Greece takes place.

Our trip starts from the bridge of Atsicholos in Arcadia. In the beginning, a brief training will be conducted by your river guide and you will be given wetsuits, lifejackets, helmets and paddles. We are ready to discover the hidden natural wonders of the area, have fun whilst paddling and swimming in the crystal-clear waters. The difficulty of the rapids we encounter during the trip is easy with a few moderate parts on level 2-3 based on the river rating of difficulty. During summer months’ river conditions and the volume of water makes this activity easier and suitable for everyone, beginners and families with kids. In Spring and Autumn, depending on the rainfall and the water volume the activity gets more challenging and ideal for those seeking more action and adrenaline. Previous experience is not required.

You can start after completing your PADI Open Water Diver certification. Advanced Open Water Dive Course will help you build confidence and expand your scuba skills through a series of Adventure Dives. You will try out different specialties, gain experience, develop capabilities and find new ways to have fun scuba diving.

You’ll plan your course with your instructor by choosing from a variety of Adventure Dives. ### **Overview** 

Get your first scuba diving certification with PADI Open Water Diver Course in Schinias’ bay crystal clear waters. By completing this course you will be certified to dive everywhere in the world, rent equipment or continue your dive career.  

The Open Water Diver certification which takes 3-4 days, allows you to dive down to 18 meters.

Padi Open Water Diver Course 

### **_The Experience_**

Our Medieval Castles Nafplio Sea Kayak Tour is probably our flagship tour, paddling from the first capital of modern Greece, with 4 different fortresses in our view.

All of them rich in history and folklore stories from the ancient times, to medieval and more recent times. This is probably a global originality, and we are proud to offer this tour, at a breathtaking, dominant scenery.

The first site we visit is the famous fort of Bourtzi, built in 1473, on a tiny inlet right in front of the port. The importance of this castle throughout the years and the battles it has seen, makes it an ideal location for the first historical tales and folklore.

After enjoying the magnificent site, we paddle towards the old town of Nafplio, under the cannons of the Old Town’s 1st line of fortification, while the UNESCO World Heritage fortress of Palamidi dominates the view right above it. As soon as we exit the port, we paddle along the ancient road of Nafplio, under Akronauplia fortress, and are rewarded with the breathtaking views of the dominant cliffs covered in succulent vegetation with the fortress as its crown at the top.

We continue along the coastline until we reach a small secluded beach for enjoying our delicacies and refreshment. Once refreshed, depending on weather conditions, we start paddling back to our starting port, or reach our base at Karathonas beach, where you can enjoy other watersports, such as SUP and water-cycle before we transfer you back to Nafplio, which transfer is included in the price. There will be plenty of time for group and family photographs in the kayaks around the cliffs and forts before reaching our finishing point at our beach base.

Located on the southwest coast of the Peloponnese, this world-famous beach is most well-known for its unique environment and its distinct "omega" shape. It is considered to be among the most beautiful beaches worldwide. Visitors come here to swim into its calm turquoise waters, relax on the fine white sand, admiring the dunes. Our SUP & Snorkel trip here is a fun-filled 4-hour experience combining Paddleboarding with an up-close exploration of colorful intertidal marine life. You shall meet your guide at the north corner of the beach for a brief warm-up and introduction to Paddleboarding before taking you around the beautiful beach. You will learn the basic paddling techniques, how to turn, stop and stand up until you grow confident on your board. After the briefing, you are ready to enjoy a super fun water activity with your family or friends at this beautiful beach. The theoretical training takes place at the dive centre and the dive at Kavourakia beach in Kallithea area.. The maximum depth we reach in DSD is about 6 meters and the duration of the dive approximately 30 minutes (including underwater skills according to PADI’s safety standards).

The DSD program is available for ages of 10 years old or older.

Exploration, Excitement and Experiences. That’s what the Advanced Adventurer program is all about. This program allows you to choose an introductory session in 5 different specialities! While learning about specialities such as deep diving or perfect buoyancy you are also gaining additional diving experience under the supervision of your Instructor helping you also advance your general diving skills.

### Who should take this program?

Do you already have your Open Water Diver certification and want to continue your diving education, but cannot decide how to go about it? Then the Advanced Adventurer program is the right fit for you! You don’t have to be “advanced” to take it – this program is designed to advance your diving, so you can start right after earning your Open Water Diver certification. The program generally takes 3 days to complete and aims to introduce you to 5 different SSI scuba diving specialities of your choice. This allows you to advance your general diving abilities under the supervision of your instructor while experiencing new equipment and skills to help you find your personal interests.

### What scuba gear will you use?

Byond using basic scuba equipment, you might use specialized gear depending on the specialties you choose to learn about. Some of the equipment you might get to use includes: dive lights for night diving, lift bags for search and recovery, underwater scooters, underwater cameras and much more! Your Instructor will explain the equipment that you will be using and can give you expert advice in purchasing your own gear if you find a keen interest for some specialty.

When you sign up to the Advanced adventurer program you gain online elearning access to the full set of specialty introductions. These materials can be accessed through SSI website or app and can also be downloaded for offline completion. You need to read and complete the knowledge reviews for the 5 specialties of your choice before the relevant in person sessions. You also have access to the rest so that you can find out if you are interested in any additional specialties for the future.

**Paddleboarding, snorkeling and exploring. All parts of this exciting half-day trip at the coast of Mani**

Kardamyli is nestled between tranquil blue bays, dark cypresses and a sea of olive trees in south Peloponnese. On one side of the horizon is the calm Gulf of Messinia, on the other, the imposing presence of Mt Taygetos. Our SUP & Snorkel trip here is a super fun experience suitable everybody, combining Paddleboarding and Snorkeling along the beautiful cliff-lined coast of the Mani.

We meet at Foneas beach, a few kilometers south of Kardamyli. After a short introduction to stand up paddleboarding where you will learn the basic paddling techniques, how to turn, stop and stand up until you grow confident on your board, we are ready to go. Starting at a slow pace, we shall practice our skills, stop occasionally to enjoy magnificent the landscape and take pictures. The perspective from a Paddleboard is unique, giving the paddler a different perception into the water where it is common to see the fish and sea turtles swimming below the surface. In addition, the view from on top of the water is equally impressive. The beauty of the imposing cliffs around the coastline is so breath-taking that you feel as if you've left the real world behind you. Soon we will be exploring hidden beaches, and paddle inside coves with turquoise water. We will be paddling into sea caves, swim into hidden caverns, enjoy gliding alongside the cliffs and for those who dare an option is a cliff jump into the water. Halfway we shall make a relaxing stop for swimming and snorkeling. Time to discover the richness of the underwater world. Kalamata, home of the famous black olives and the southernmost city in Greece combines a unique coastline along with the imposing views of mount Taygetos. The city offers a diverse coastline with calm weather conditions, an ideal environment for Stand Up Padleboarding. Our SUP & Snorkeling trip here is a super fun experience suitable for everybody along the tranquil coast of Kalamata.

We meet at Archontiko beach, a few kilometers south of Kalamata. After a short introduction to Stand Up Paddleboarding where you will learn the basic paddling techniques such as how to turn, how to stop, and stand up until you become confident on your board, we are ready to go. Starting at a slow pace, we shall practice our skills, stop occasionally to enjoy the beautiful landscape, and take pictures. The view from a Paddleboard is unique, giving the paddler a different perception of the water. It is very often happening to see fish and sea turtles swimming below the surface. In addition, the view from on top of the water is equally impressive. The beauty of the diverse coastline is stunning offering endless spots in hidden coves to swim and play around. We take a break at the beach we like for relaxing, swimming and snorkeling. The warm sea and the crystal clear waters are making snorkeling here a must-do and enjoyable activity. ### The Fun Part

There is nothing quite like breathing underwater for the very first time. It takes a little getting used to but since you will be in confined water and well looked after by your instructor, after a few seconds you will enjoy those first unforgettable breaths underwater and experience the magic of scuba diving. The biggest challenge instructors have with the Try Scuba Diving program is not coaxing participants into the water, but getting them out when the program is over. The fun part? It’s all fun!

### Who should take this program?

If you have always wondered what it would be like to observe marine life face to face and not only from the surface, then Try Scuba Diving is perfect for you. We offer this program either in a pool or off a beach (max depth 5m). While not a scuba certification course, Try Scuba Diving is a quick and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater world.

### What will you learn?

You will learn the basic safety guidelines and skills needed to dive under the direct supervision of a scuba Professional. If you make an open water dive, you’ll practice a few more skills in shallow water to prepare for your adventure. Get ready to:

It does not matter, if you are a single, couple, family, beginner or expert, our professional and international staff will care for you, support you on each level and show you our amazing snorkeling spots located around Nikouria Island which we reach by a zodiac boat. ### The Fun Part

Freediving is the purest form of diving and gives you an incomparable feeling of oneness with the ocean! It allows you to be a silent observer of the underwater world. Come and discover your breath-holding potential and find out why freedivers truly love their sport.

### Who should take this program?

Freediving gives you the advantage of being a silent observer beneath the waves and opens you up to a next level of intimate interactions with marine life. If you enjoy snorkeling and want to be able to discover the underwater world of every corner of this planet without having to carry around lots of equipment, then come and find out all about freediving! 

### What will you learn?

The Try Freediving experience is an introduction to the amazing sport of freediving. It is a 2-3h experience and you will start your day with a short academic session for the equipment used and how our bodies react in a breath hold and in the water, as well as how we can improve our breath hold abilities through special breathing techniques. Then you will have an in-water session together with an instructor where you discover your freediving capabilities in the confined water environment (up to 5 meters deep) just off the beach of our dive center. 

### What gear will you use?

While not as much as scuba diving, freediving still involves the use of some gear. You will use and be provided with a freediving mask, snorkel and fins, as well as a weather appropriate freediving wetsuit. You will also use and learn about a freediving safety buoy and lines. 

### What learning materials will you need?

When you sign up to the course you gain access to SSI Try Freediving online learning materials which are a quick introductory read. This can be accessed through SSI Website/App and be downloaded for offline use. You will also receive an in-person academic learning session prior to the in-water activities.

Try Freediving 

Sea Kayak in the bay of st. Andrews, swimming in the clear blue water of Ionion sea and snorkeling, wine tasting at Mercury Estate (if they do not host an event on that day), stop at the Matzakoura island and observe the sunk walls of ancient Feia and part of the sunk pillars of the ancient temple. 
At the end we will have snaks, juice and water and a secluded beach to continue swimming and snorkeling.

Sea Kayak Tour at the magestic bay of St. Andrew

### **_The Experience_**

Our Remote Islands Tour is the ideal tour if you want to escape the crowded and touristic beach of Tolo. Starting from the picturesque port, we aim to encircle 3 remote islands.

The main remote island, called Romvi, also known as Aphroditi’s island in mythology, is considered an archeological site, with rare birds and plants which beautify the area, and last but not least a Medieval Fort built right at its peak. The waters around those islands are crystal clear and take its beautiful colors from its white sand sea bed. The narrow passage between the mainland and the island looks like a passage from a pirate novel, which happens to be actually true, as the island has been used as a lair of pirates in the past. It is full of folklore stories which we are eager to share with you as we paddle. The beach at the bay of the island is our main lunch stop at which you will be able to explore the island, snorkel, play games, sunbathe, or simply admire the view, eating homemade traditional delicacies and listening to our stories.

The two smaller islands have small Mediterranean chapels, accessible on foot, in which important archeological artefacts have been found from the Byzantine times. We can visit both of them and why not try some cliff jumping from the steep rocks

**A Kayak trip around Navarino bay, an area of incredible beauty and one of Greece's most historically important places.**

Navarino Bay lies in front of the town of Pylos. It is a natural harbor where the island of Sphacteria stands as a wave breaker, protecting the bay from winds of the open Ionian Sea. The bay offers ideal conditions for Sea Kayaking trips, especially for beginners. The bay itself is a place of incredible natural beauty, with an impressive landscape, warm, crystal clear, waters and golden sandy beaches where sea turtles often return to lay their eggs. Sea kayaking here is a must definitely do without a doubt.

Meet your guides at Divari beach just a few kilometers away from the charming village of Gialova. Your guide will brief you on paddling techniques, safety measures, and equipment. Soon we shall hop on our kayaks for a trip around the Navarino bay like never before. Heading west we paddle towards the imposing Rock, the islet located at the south side of the bay. The Rock is also a place of nesting and resting place for many species of birds. We admire its impressive natural stone arch and visit a few of its sea caves and galleries. Our next stop is the unhabituated island of Sphacteria. Here, we jump out of our kayaks, stretch our legs and walk to the island’s viewpoint for taking pictures of an idyllic landscape and for story-telling. A few minutes later we shall make a stop at a secluded beach for swimming and snorkeling, and why not some cliff diving for those who feel more adventurous. Here we shall also taste our homemade picnic of local delicacies and relax under the sun. After this energy pumped stop, we will paddle back to the starting point to end an amazing day in the tranquility of Navarino Bay.

### **_The Experience_**

The Ancient Sunken City Tour is a combination of our Medieval Castles Nafplio Tour and our Wilderness Tour, combining the famous Ancient Sunken City, the Small Ancient Theater of Epidavros, with breathtaking and wild scenery, pine trees hanging above the turquoise colored waters of Argolida’s coastline and wonderful secluded beaches for our stops.

Departing from the port of Old Epidavros, we follow the coastline - an untouched and sublime landscape, passing by dense vegetation, stopping at pristine isolated beaches along the way towards our historical sites. Our first site is the Small Ancient Theatre of Epidavros, built in the 4th century B.C.

Our second site is none other than the Ancient Sunken City built 1200BC, also known as Argolida’s Lost Atlantis. In some places the ancient breakwater is still preserved. Only two meters in depth, this makes it a terrific location for underwater site-seeing, snorkeling, underwater pictures.

After admiring the ruins of the Sunken City, and enjoy our first snacks of the tour, we visit the stall of Athina Eco-farm where we enjoy local traditional delicacies, all produced the same way they were produced during the ancient times. The owner of the farm will share with you all the knowledge he has on the way ancient Greeks produced their products and taste the difference to the modern way of production.

When we manage to convince you to move on, we paddle to a pristine, isolated beach to have our homemade lunch. After some snorkeling, sunbathing, or why not a siesta, we can finally admire the journey back, with all senses having been satisfied and fulfilled.

**An inch by inch half-day sea kayak exploration in the lacy coastline of the Mani**

Kardamyli is a village in the Mani nestled between the blue waters of the Messinian Gulf and Mount Taygetos creating one of the prettiest settings in the Peloponnese. Sea kayaking here is a not to be missed trip. An inch-by-inch exploration of one incredibly beautiful and rich in images coasts. You paddle in warm crystal-clear waters, exploring hidden coves, sea caves, and impressive rock formations, visiting idyllic beaches scattered along the coast.

Meet your guides at the starting point right next to the water. Before departure, your guide will brief you on trip details, kayak paddling techniques, and safety measures. Soon we will be exploring the coast at a relaxed paddling pace. Your guides will narrate to you some of the legends and stories of the region. Each little cove hides a special surprise such as hidden sea caves, rock gardens, cliffs with spectacular formations. Fro your kayak you can see through the crystal-clear water the sea life and if you are lucky a sea turtle swimming under you. One of the top attractions of this trip is a visit to the Blue Cave. ### What will you learn? 

The Open Water Diver course takes 3-4 in person teaching days and consists of three main phases:

- **Knowledge Development** (online e-learning and in-person academic sessions) to understand the basic principles of scuba diving, the scuba equipment set up and use, as well as the safety rules and information.
- **Confined Water sessions** to learn and get comfortable with the use of the scuba equipment and basic scuba skills such as: mask and regulator clearing, buoyancy and breathing underwater, independence and problem solving, and emergency and safety procedures.
- **Open Water Dives** to review your skills and explore the underwater world!


### What Scuba Gear will you use?

The course includes the use of the full basic scuba gear including mask, snorkel and fins, the buoyancy compensator jacket which also holds your scuba tank, a regulator to breathe from, instrumentation to check your depth and air levels and a weight system. In the Open Water Diver course, you also learn to use standard accessories including a dSMB and a dive computer. You will also be provided with a wetsuit and other thermal protection appropriate to the current temperatures. 

Our in-house shop also carries a selection of a variety of equipment if at any point you wish to purchase personal equipment to make your learning experience more comfortable and motivate yourself to get in the water after completing the course. 

### What learning materials will you need? 

When you sign up for the course you will receive immediate access to the SSI online learning materials. These can be used either through the SSI website or App and can also be downloaded for offline use. The e-learning materials include text and video content of both academic knowledge and in-water skills, which will cover everything that you need to know about basic scuba diving skills, terminology and safety procedures. The online learning also includes knowledge review tests for each concept which need to be completed before you can receive your certification. 

In addition to the online materials to be completed at home, you will also receive at least 6 in person academic sessions. After which you will get in the pool/confined water to learn and practice in-water skills with your instructor to then move on to the open water dives for further practice to become a capable autonomous diver able to enjoy the wonders of the underwater world.

To enroll in an Open Water Diver course, you must be at **least 10 years old**. You also need adequate swimming skills and to be in good physical health (pass a health questionnaire or a medical check up)
