Escape to the Marathon Lake, Domaine Costas Lazaridis for a unique winery tour with tasting and lunch to a local tavern on a semi private premium seven hours tour.

Our day starts after we pick you up from your hotel or a point close to the indicated hotel if car access is not possible. We will follow the national road to North Suburbs of Athens, and at Agios Stefanos area our adventure route starts. Following this route in the wide area close to Marathon we approach the lake where our first stop takes place.

Marathon Lake is a water-supply reservoir of Athens city, formed from the construction of Marathon Dam at the junction of the Charadros and Varnavas torrents. Escape to Parnitha’s National Park on a semiprivate safari tour for up to 6 persons per vehicle. Mount Parnitha is a densely forested mountain range 40 km north of Athens. It is an ideal place for the residents or guests of Athens city, as it provides the opportunity to enjoy nature and relax while leaving behind the city stress. Parnitha’s national park is full of pine and fir forests. It is a true oasis for many species of wildlife, such as red deer, foxes and many kinds of birds, as well as the main getaway for the hot summer days and a vast snow-covered playground during the winter.

We will follow the national road which leads to Mount Parnitha and pick up our morning coffee, tea or juice on the way. It will take less than an hour of driving to leave Athens’ noisy city-centre and enter the entrancement of the mountains. Our first stop will take place at an altitude of 600m, at Lake Beletsi which is an artificial lake that seems to belong in a fairytale. The landscape resembles the Alps and is not at all reminiscent of Athens, Greece. Continuing our route to Mount Parnitha we follow a unique off-road route through the forest full of pine trees, goats, chapels, monasteries and natural springs. After our little adventure, we will approach Avlonas Village. Crossing the village and heading onwards, the mountain adventure starts again through an off-road route to Vountima wildlife refuge. Athens day escape on a spectacular mountain route visiting two lakes and lush landscape. Forests with wild cypress, fir and black pine trees, lakes, rivers, plateaus, chapels and Monasteries compose an incredibly serene setting, focusing on the Ziria Mountains and Feneos River.

We enter the forest of Ziria and an off road route will lead us to our first stop next to the beautiful lake Dasiou surrounded from firs and wild mountain vegetation in an altitude of 1600m. Escape in the unspoiled nature of the oldest national park in Greece "Parnassos" and the most cosmopolitan mountain village "Arachova. He will take you through ancient times, the wine regions of Greece and the style of wine they make. You will learn a lot about GREAT Greek wines and Greek food. Servings of both wine and food are generous and you will have the opportunity to taste the flavours of Greece.

This tends to be very social, yet educated wine tasting. You’ll join a small-group, usually with eight to ten wine-lovers adventurers on board. The venue is located right under Parthenon and you will have the flexibility to join us right after your walk around. This is informative and fun wine tasting.
