It does not matter, if you are a single, couple, family, beginner or expert, our professional and international staff will care for you, support you on each level and show you our amazing snorkeling spots located around Nikouria Island which we reach by a zodiac boat. Fun, safe and easy, snorkeling is ideal for people who can’t dive or feel better on the surface of the sea.

While from the boat you’ll get the chance to see more of the island, in the sea you’ll enjoy the beautiful underwater architecture, have the chance to see some Octopus (which we have recently made a sanctuary for providing them with clay pots to make homes in), Moray eels, Sea Bass, Barracuda, Damsel Fish, Sponges, Shrimps and more...

### What will you learn?

The Try Freediving experience is an introduction to the amazing sport of freediving. It is a 2-3h experience and you will start your day with a short academic session for the equipment used and how our bodies react in a breath hold and in the water, as well as how we can improve our breath hold abilities through special breathing techniques. Then you will have an in-water session together with an instructor where you discover your freediving capabilities in the confined water environment (up to 5 meters deep) just off the beach of our dive center.

While not as much as scuba diving, freediving still involves the use of some gear. You will use and be provided with a freediving mask, snorkel and fins, as well as a weather appropriate freediving wetsuit. You will also use and learn about a freediving safety buoy and lines.

By learning what is happening to your body when you freedive you learn to truly connect your body and mind as one, allowing you to become a silent observer of the underwater world. Come and discover your breath-holding potential and open the door to worldwide freediving opportunities.

### Who should take this program?

If you enjoy snorkeling, but want to be able to have more intimate marine life encounters and discover more of the underwater world at every corner of this planet without having to carry around lots of equipment, then this course is perfect for you! Freediving gives you the advantage of being a silent observer beneath the waves which means it allows you to have much more intimate interactions with marine life. 

This programme is open to everyone, whether you already have some experience or whether you have never broken below the surface. Through this course you will learn new things about both your mind and your body and gain a strong admiration for the sport and the underwater world.

Once certified, you can freedive with a certified buddy in open water up to a depth of 20 meters and explore a variety of stunning underwater ecosystems around the world. 

### What will you learn?

Learning to freedive with SSI is easier than you think. In this program, online materials and in-person academic sessions, pool/confined water sessions and open water training dives are combined to help you become a confident and safe freediver in no time. 

Through the 4 day program you will learn about human physiology and what happens to our bodies and minds underwater, as well as all the proper skills and knowledge in order to freedive safely and in the most relaxed way to a maximum depth of 20 meters. You will prepare for in-water sessions through some special stretching and relaxation techniques which will offer you better respiration ability and muscle flexibility. This will be combined with techniques of breathing before and after a dive, and familiarizing yourself with diaphragmatic breathing which will eventually allow you to take your deepest breath ever! 

The in-water sessions will include both static and dynamic breath hold exercises and will build up to learning a variety of proper techniques for descending and ascending

Freediving level 1 course

## Description

**Discover Amorgos: A guided journey through history, scenery, and local hospitality**. 

We depart from Aegiali for a day of exploration. 

Our first stop is the **Monastery of Hozoviotissa**, where we’re warmly greeted by the monks. 

Next, we visit **Agios Georgios Valsamitis**, an ancient oracle site. We then head south for coffee and relaxation at a charming restaurant.

Following this, we explore the **ancient Agia Triada Tower**, a **UNESCO World Heritage** site, before enjoying a swim at a beach chosen by the guide (weather permitting). 

Our day ends in **Chora**, where we wander the narrow streets, admire the traditional architecture, and dine at a local tavern before returning.

You will also receive in-water training in both confined water and open water to learn how to freedive with a certified buddy down to a depth of 5 meters.

Basic Freediving

## Description
 
**Palia Strata**, as the name itself says (old walk in Greek), follows ancient route once used for communication and trading purposes. Most of its length coincides with the ancient road which connected Minoa with Aegiali.

Walk through this ancient path setting off from Aegiali bay and ending to the renowned Monastery of Panagia Hozoviotissa. Join us in a hike, led by our expert guides through some important cultural and historical attractions while walking up to the cliffs and gazing the breath-taking view over the sea on the way!

The “old road” of Amorgos is the most popular long-distance route to savour and is passing through the crest of a mountain at an altitude of 350-400 meters, on a coastal path.
 
We are departing from **Potamos**, a village above Aegiali port. Step back in time: **Asfondilitis** is an abandoned rural settlement with houses of dry-stone walls. Followingly, explore **Kapsala** place, the area where monks used to live in natural caves.

Let yourself admire the unrivalled sea view of the ‘Big Blue’ and finally enter into the iconic **Monastery of Panagia (Virgin Mary) Hozoviotissa** – the second oldest monastery in Greece. After this visit, enjoy a stroll around in the beautiful village of Chora.

Hiking - Palia Strata Route

## Description
 
One hour and fifteen minutes with Hector, Ermis or Black, Pigasos and Jery. Choose the donkey or horse you would like to ride up to Agios Dimitris or Agios Ioannis chapel, in Tholaria village.

Explore the small, scenic village and admire the superb view to Naxos and small Cyclades or Aegiali bay. Michalis, your guide, will accompany you during the whole ride.

If you are lucky, you are going to watch the magic of Golden Hour and the spectacular Amorgian sunset will appear in front of you.

Donkey - Horse Ride

## Description

Forget about the strenuous and tiring pedaling, trying to ride uphill or climb a steep road. Our e-bikes equip the rider with 5 levels of motorised assistance and 7 gears of mechanical advantage to give you absolute control on your ride and give you an extra boost over those steep slopes!

Our guide will take you on a ride to explore the villages of Aegiali, visit Ag. Pavlos for a boat trip to Nikouria, discover the secret corners of Asfondilitis. Ride on paved and dirt roads. Admire the sunset from Potamos, Lagada or Tholaria and use the head and tail lights to ride back home safely at dusk!

E-bike Guided Tour

### The Fun Part

There is nothing quite like breathing underwater for the very first time. It takes a little getting used to but since you will be in confined water and well looked after by your instructor, after a few seconds you will enjoy those first unforgettable breaths underwater and experience the magic of scuba diving. The biggest challenge instructors have with the Try Scuba Diving program is not coaxing participants into the water, but getting them out when the program is over. The fun part? It’s all fun!

If you have always wondered what it would be like to observe marine life face to face and not only from the surface, then Try Scuba Diving is perfect for you. We offer this program either in a pool or off a beach (max depth 5m). While not a scuba certification course, Try Scuba Diving is a quick and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater world.

### What will you learn?

You will learn the basic safety guidelines and skills needed to dive under the direct supervision of a scuba Professional. If you make an open water dive, you’ll practice a few more skills in shallow water to prepare for your adventure. Get ready to:

Try Scuba Diving

## Description
 
Discover the spectacular beauty and the day-to-day lives of islanders in the picturesque villages of Aegiali bay – Tholaria, Lagkada and Ormos. A hike through nature, culture and tradition with an experienced local guide that will lead the way in the ancient path of Amorgos. 

Upon departing from Vigla Hotel which is the starting point, we’ll be heading towards village Lagada (or Langada) which is right opposite to ours, Tholaria. Breath in refreshing salty air and enjoy a moderate hike. It is the perfect option for immersing yourself in the sublime landscape of Aegiali bay. Don’t forget to keep your eyes peeled for charming baby goats or cute donkeys along your way.

You can either take the route to Stroumbos village or the other one to the famous** Panagia Epanochoriani** church (dedicated to Virgin Mary) that many believers visit during the great festival that takes place on August 15. Next stop is a traditional cafe where a cup of coffee or a fresh traditional sweet will be more than appreciated.

Last but not least, the visit to the remarkable small church (used to be a fortress, the church was built afterwards) of **Agia Triada** (the Holy Trinity) is a must-to-see attraction that was built to protect the people from raids.

Walking down towards the bay, you will follow one of the most ancient and well-preserved paths on the island. What is better than ending your hiking with swimming in **Aegiali**.

Exploration, Excitement and Experiences. That’s what the Advanced Adventurer program is all about. This program allows you to choose an introductory session in 5 different specialities! While learning about specialities such as deep diving or perfect buoyancy you are also gaining additional diving experience under the supervision of your Instructor helping you also advance your general diving skills.

### Who should take this program?

Do you already have your Open Water Diver certification and want to continue your diving education, but cannot decide how to go about it? Then the Advanced Adventurer program is the right fit for you! You don’t have to be “advanced” to take it – this program is designed to advance your diving, so you can start right after earning your Open Water Diver certification. The program generally takes 3 days to complete and aims to introduce you to 5 different SSI scuba diving specialities of your choice. This allows you to advance your general diving abilities under the supervision of your instructor while experiencing new equipment and skills to help you find your personal interests.

### What scuba gear will you use?

Byond using basic scuba equipment, you might use specialized gear depending on the specialties you choose to learn about. Some of the equipment you might get to use includes: dive lights for night diving, lift bags for search and recovery, underwater scooters, underwater cameras and much more! Your Instructor will explain the equipment that you will be using and can give you expert advice in purchasing your own gear if you find a keen interest for some specialty. 

### What learning materials will you need?

When you sign up to the Advanced adventurer program you gain online elearning access to the full set of specialty introductions. These materials can be accessed through SSI website or app and can also be downloaded for offline completion. You need to read and complete the knowledge reviews for the 5 specialties of your choice before the relevant in person sessions. You also have access to the rest so that you can find out if you are interested in any additional specialties for the future. 

You will also have 1 in person academic session per every specialty to ensure you are comfortable with the material covered and prepare you for the use of any specialty equipment or skill performances.

## Description

If you are greatly fond of ladles, pots, frying pans and of course traditional Greek cuisine or pastry, get ready for your ultimate experience: lessons by our chef, ‘a woman with the magical hands’, as we call her. Mrs Irini has experience, ability and most of all love for cooking.

Stuffed tomatoes and peppers (gemista), goatmeat and potatoes cooked in casserole (patatato), baked pasta (Greek pastitsio), Greek zucchini pie (kolokithopita), Greek custard pie (Galaktoboureko), Greek kataifi rolls and the list goes on…

We don’t know whether cooking with the ‘magician’ Mrs Irini or tasting delicious recipes with fresh ingredients is the best part of the lesson. One thing is for sure: you are going to experience both.

Cooking Lessons

### The Fun Part

This course can take you from your first breath underwater (something you will never forget) to being a certified autonomous diver! The fun part? Just about all of it, because learning to dive is incredible! During the course, you’ll learn all about the scuba equipment, make at least six confined water training sessions and four training dives at local dive sites under the supervision of your Instructor.

The Open Water Diver course takes 3-4 in person teaching days and consists of three main phases:

### What Scuba Gear will you use?

The course includes the use of the full basic scuba gear including mask, snorkel and fins, the buoyancy compensator jacket which also holds your scuba tank, a regulator to breathe from, instrumentation to check your depth and air levels and a weight system. In the Open Water Diver course, you also learn to use standard accessories including a dSMB and a dive computer. You will also be provided with a wetsuit and other thermal protection appropriate to the current temperatures. 

Our in-house shop also carries a selection of a variety of equipment if at any point you wish to purchase personal equipment to make your learning experience more comfortable and motivate yourself to get in the water after completing the course. 

### What learning materials will you need? 

When you sign up for the course you will receive immediate access to the SSI online learning materials. These can be used either through the SSI website or App and can also be downloaded for offline use. The e-learning materials include text and video content of both academic knowledge and in-water skills, which will cover everything that you need to know about basic scuba diving skills, terminology and safety procedures. The online learning also includes knowledge review tests for each concept which need to be completed before you can receive your certification. 

In addition to the online materials to be completed at home, you will also receive at least 6 in person academic sessions. Open Water Diver course 

## Description
 
If it’s wild and wonderful you want, then this route has it in abundance. Starting from the beautiful village of Lagada and ending to the small church of Stavros, hidden high up in the ridges nearby Krikelos (or Kroukelos) mountain. It is full of natural beauty, upon walking along the impressive cliffs, enjoy the exceptional sea view. We are going to pass by the monastery of **Agios Ioannis Theologos**, and walk across the ‘invisible’ part of the island. This is the path that the shepherds once used to take for reaching their fields up in the mountains.

We begin early in the morning in order to avoid the heat of the sun. **Lagada** is our starting point, the village opposite to ours, Tholaria, at an altitude of 225m. Admire the unique Cycladic architecture and byzantine churches in one of the oldest villages of the island.

Path No 5 passes above the small settlement of **Stroumbos** – ‘the village with 12 houses and 13 stone ovens’, with no electricity and running water. The trail is strewn with prickly pears, cactuses and ficus. After an ascent of 30’, Agios Ioannis Theologos monastery appears in front of you at an altitude of 515m. It used to be metochi (having a status of dependency) of the Hozoviotissa Monastery. It has been recently renovated and there are distinctive characteristics of byzantine architecture. Inside the apse there is a mosaic cross, an indication that it was probably built during the iconoclasm period. Listen to the silence of this place, it has so much to say.

Passing through steep and uneven terrain, explore rocky cliffs and scenic highlights that you won’t soon forget before reaching **Stavros** church. Here, the out-of-this-world view will definitely take your breath away.
