Private RIB Cruise - all around Milos
WE WELCOME YOU ABOARD!
Your Milos Island Tour will commence from either the beautiful beach of Agia Kyriaki or from the Port of PolIonia depending on weather conditions.
You will experience the beauty of a unique multifaceted island which boasts amazing crystal waters, unique colours of aged old rock and the fun of visiting inside caves.
YOUR ITINERARY
GERAKAS
Our first stop will be at Gerakas, which is a beach which can only be visited by boat, but has its own beauty with plenty of white sand and what makes this unique is the huge “sand slides”, which lead up to the famous volcano known as Agia Kiriaki
If you look carefully, you will notice caves along the beach. One needs to be careful, as sometimes you can see steam emanating from them, which could scald you. However, these caves have beautiful rock formations with their own set of distinctive colours. As a result of the steam the waters here are usually warmer than the others
TSIGRADO
Our next stop at Tsigrado, with its huge white “sand slides” and crystal blue waters. It is a secluded, picturesque beach tucked away amid high cliffs, rocky passages & caves.
This is a small, almost like a “private beach” that is accessible either by land or by boat. The fun part of this beach, if you choose access by land, is that you have to negotiate the huge white “sand slides” and with the help of a rope, you can slowly climb down until you reach its sparkling little beach with deep blue turquoise waters.
KLEFTIKO
We will then sail onto Kleftiko, which will be the highlight of your trip
Upon arrival at Kleftiko we drop anchor for a while where you can enjoy a swim and take photos.
This specific area is surrounded by beautifully formed rocks, and you will find small caves which you can enjoy swimming in and out of. We invite you to take a close look over the side of the boat, where you will be able to have a completely transparent view of the bottom of the ocean. The blend of colour at Kleftiko poses a lifelong memory as you will find a unique peace brought about by the serenity and the different colour combinations of water and rocks at Klefitko.
SYKIA
After packing up at Kleftiko, we will sail onto Sykia where you will experience another magical experience. The cave mouth at Sykia is big enough to allow the boat to enter the cave. This is another enchanting part of our trip as you will see different rock materialisations, colours and a completely different colour in the waters.
This is an “open air” cave, and therefore these waters are filtered by the sun which illuminates the emerald-coloured waters found inside the cave. This experience allows you to take a few more photos, have another swim and once again see a variety of strikingly blended colours.
AGIOS IOANNIS. (SAINT JOHN)
Agios Ioannis Beach lies in the surrounding area near the monastery with which it shares the same name (this should not be confused with the numerous churches with the same name). It is the southernmost of the four main beaches on the west coast of Milos. The beach is surrounded by relatively high rock faces, thereby sheltering it from the wind and allowing one a peaceful swim in calm waters.
KALOGRIES
The waters of Kalogries is crystal clear, and among some of the most beautiful found around Milos. This area is totally mesmerising with its brown and green colour rock and foliage combinations, which is highlighted by blue waters full of fish. A great place to go snorkling.
Two small beaches there for you to explore with soft sands.
VANI
Cape Vani is one of the most striking landmarks of the island of Milos and situated on the norther most place on the west cost.. It is famous for the old abandoned manganese mine which one can clearly see from the boat. This is just another one of the many rock formations found throughout the island which one will find totally fascinating with its array of colours ranging from almost red browns to nearly white, which is impressive by its sheer height.
The boat does not stop here but we suggest that you take the opportunity to take some photos of this truly memorable sight.
SARAKINIKO
This beach is one of the most fascinating beaches of Milos as it consists of white volcanic rock and located along the coastal road east of Adamas, north-east of Milos. This considered to be the most photographed spot on the island. The contrast of the snow white rock surrounded by sparkling turquoise green waters within the coves and caves with waters which as they deepen change into deep blue shades of colour which is so unique that it’s one of natures richest blessings.
This amazing scenery gives one the impression of standing on the surface of the moon.
THIORICHIA – Sulfur Mines
Our last stop will be to view the old sulphur Mines at Thiorichia. Thiorichia located in the southeast of the island, on the west coast and is a special attraction within the small bay of Paliorema.
“Thiorichia” literally means sulfur mines. When you see Thiorichia at first, you don’t really understand what you are looking at. You see a beach with golden sand and pebbles and a turquoise sea and right behind it, are the imposing abandoned mines. On the grounds of this mysterious mine, appear carriages on their rails, all kinds of rusty tools, unused parts in the materials warehouse and abandoned offices. In the 1930s these mines brought prosperity to the island, but they closed their doors in 1960. This mine has left its mark clearly on the beach, because the colors of the mine, white-grey-yellow-red-brown, contrast with the beach and the adjacent mountains.
