Polyegos & Kimolos – Full Day

A day in Polyaigos and Kimolos

Starting from the marina of Platis Gialos and heading southwest we enter the strait between Kitriani and Sifnos. To out left we admire the exquisite chapel of Panagia Kitriani built on the uninhabited island by the same name.

We follow a course south and very soon we are in the cove of the Polyaigos lighthouse on a small gorgeous beach where you can swim in its sky blue waters. Don’t forget to take a picture of the famous Polyaigos lighthouse built at 130 metres above sea level. From there, we start again and head west to cove Kalogeri. Here we’ll make a stop to admire the aqua blue waters with the white sand.

We steer for the isle of Kimolos and in a few minutes we approach the port, Psathi. We’ll stay here for 2 to 2½ hours for a meal and a coffee or if you want, you can visit on foot the Chora of Kimolos which is very near. There, you’ll admire the majestic church of Panagia Odigitria. We head off again to visit the rest of the island’s beaches like Agios Minas, Goupa Kara and Prasa, the most beautiful beach of Kimolos. After a short swim there, we’ll head northeast and return to the cove of Platis Gialos.
