Huge vertical cliffs, with awe inspiring panoramic views, With centuries old but active monasteries perched on top. Natural sculptures created by prehistoric rivers. 

The monks have established a centuries old tradition: climbing, aided by ropes, nets, wooden structures or bare hands.

Today climbers from all over the world visit Meteora, to be challenged by the “god-made” rocks. UNESCO has designated Meteora as “Conserved and Protected Monument of Humanity “. Hiking to the monasteries

Meteora has a very large network of ancient paths carved into the Rock by the monks hundreds of years ago. We will follow one of them that will lead us to two of the most famous monasteries of Meteora, the Holy Monastery of Varlaam and the Holy Monastery of Megalo Meteoro, where we will have time to visit them.

After our visit to the two monasteries, we can have free time for a guided tour of the town of Kalambaka and Lunch, or we can visit a third monastery of the Holy Trinity, following a beautiful cobblestone path.
