Huge vertical cliffs, with awe inspiring panoramic views, With centuries old but active monasteries perched on top. Natural sculptures created by prehistoric rivers.
The monks have established a centuries old tradition: climbing, aided by ropes, nets, wooden structures or bare hands.
Today climbers from all over the world visit Meteora, to be challenged by the “god-made” rocks. UNESCO has designated Meteora as “Conserved and Protected Monument of Humanity“. The Greek state as a “place sacred, unalterable and inviolable“. Add your own characterization in the “guest book” of Meteora, which reaches over 2 million visitors every year.
Via Cordata / monasteries
Using safety equipment we will climb the rock “Agia” of Meteora (Stavros) and from there we will have time to admire the wonderful monasteries that rise on the rocks as well as the beautiful city of Kalambaka
Via cordata is an activity similar to Via Ferrata, the difference is that we move secured with ropes
After the end of the activity we will visit the Holy Monastery of Varlaam.
